LOTTERY INFO

BEFORE THE LOTTERY

 

  • Look over the “Suites Available” spreadsheet to see what suites are available for your group size. Depending on your group size, suites may become available throughout lottery week. Keep checking it. 

  • If you need to find suitemates, use this Suitemates Wanted sheet

  • The “Suites Available” spreadsheet will be posted on the Kirkland House website on Tuesday, March 31st

 

LOTTERY DAY

 

By 10:00 AM on the day of the lottery you are entering:

 

  • Drop off your Room Lottery Form. This form is enclosed in this packet. Printouts are also available on the wall next to H-13. Only one form is required for each roommate group. You must turn in your Room Lottery Form by 10:00 AM on the day of the lottery you are entering. I will not accept late or emailed forms.

 

At 12:30 PM on the day of your lottery:

 

  • Make sure at least one person from your group (or the designated proxy) is in the Kirkland JCR.
  • Pick a lottery number out of the hat. At the beginning of each lottery, one member of each rooming group will draw a lottery number. If no one in the rooming group can be present for the lottery, you must find someone to represent your group (a “proxy”) and designate them on the Room Lottery Form. 

 

At 1:00 PM on the day of your lottery:

 

  • First, we will conduct the lottery for the largest suite sizes, then go down from there. For example, on Junior triple and doubles day, the juniors who are entering the triples lottery will go first, followed by the doubles.
  • The lowest number chooses first within each lottery.  Once your lottery number is called; you must be ready to choose your room.  If you aren’t in the JCR when your number is called, we will move on and you will choose last.
  • Once you have chosen a suite, your selection is final. You may enter no more lotteries once you have chosen a suite, and you may not change suites.
