Room Reservations

Spaces Available for Students

The following spaces can be requested by Kirkland students through Roombook. Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance. 

Spaces are closed during quiet hours and can not be reserved for parties or formals.

ROOM
DESCRIPTION
Junior Common Room
The Kirkland Junior Common Room (JCR) is the House living room. It is a large room intended for informal gatherings of students. It contains comfortable furniture and two grand pianos. The space is primarily used for house sponsored events, but special considerations may be made for Kirkland student sponsored events.
Community Kitchen
The Community Kitchen is open
Mon-Fri 9am-12am, and Sat-Sun 4pm-12am.
Grille
This space has a tv and lots of seating.
Private Dining Room
Small room off the Dining Hall. Seats up to 10 people. This room is typically reserved for visiting faculty meals. The PDR cannot be reserved for weekly meetings.
K Seminar Room
This room has a large table, chairs and a blackboard and can hold approx. 15 students. It is typically used for weekly meetings/study groups.
Screening Room L
This room has surround sound, projector and screen, and comfy movie chair seating. It can hold approx. 12 students.
Music Practice Room C
This room contains a grand piano. Hours are 10am-10:30pm.
Music Practice Room B
This room contains an upright piano. Hours are 10am-10:30pm.
Mediation Room K
This room contains comfy seating and is meant for quiet reflection and mediation.
Quiet Study Room B 
This room contains two large tables with seating. It can hold approximately 10 students.

Reservation Guidelines

Ground Rules
  • You must be a Kirkland House student or tutor to reserve a room. Rooms are made available at the discretion of the Kirkland House Office and can be revoked or reassigned at will. Privileges will be revoked if rooms are 'sublet' to outside groups.
  • Treat the room like you would one in your own house: leave it cleaner and more organized than how you found it.
  • Be kind to your community! Don't hog the rooms and be considerate.
  • All kitchen utensils are for use in the student KITCHEN ONLY. Please do not remove, even if you intend on returning items.
